Case Details

Disease Location

Clitoris

Personal Characteristics

4-day-old girl.

Clinical Characteristics

At birth, a genital alteration was observed, involving an apparent enlargement of the clitoris, suggestive of ambiguous genitalia. The chromosomal constitution was 46,xx. Physical examination: enlarged phallus, with an abnormal appearance, rounded, measuring approximately 2 cm in length and width. It did not appear to be typical of that observed in cases of secondary virilization. On ultrasound at 3 months of age, a cyst was seen in the clitoris.

Remission Characteristics

Approximately 1 month later, the cyst had spontaneously regressed.
