Abstract

A case of bilateral metachronous primary bronchial carcinoma was unique because of remarkable disappearance of the first lesion without treatment.

53-year-old male

Clinical Characteristics

History of recurrent pneumonia, slight cough, tightness in left chest moderate smoker bronchoscopy revealed partial obstruction of lingular segment of upper lobe bronchus sent home to be admitted 1 week later for exploratory thoracotomy

Remission Characteristics

Chest film upon readmission showed complete clearance of shadow repeat bronchoscopy revealed normal lingular & upper lobe bronchus thoracotomy not performed followed with roentgenograms and bronchoscopies at frequent intervals that were normal
