Clinical Characteristics
Progressively enlarging lump in the left preauricular region. Eighteen weeks after operation a node was noticed in the left preauricular region. During the following 10 weeks the tumour increased in size along the site of the initial inci- sion in the neck. Fine needle aspiration cytology confirmed a recurrence of the merkel-cell-like small cell carcinoma.
Remission Characteristics
After 10 weeks he noticed a slow but consistent regression of the lesion. Clinical follow-up 5 months later showed no trace of the tumour.

Superficial parotidectomy and a modified radical neck dissection, followed by radiotherapy
