Disease Location

Duodenal follicular

Personal Characteristics

72 -year-old male

Clinical Characteristics

Was asymptomatic when he underwent upper gi endoscopy which found a duodenal abnormality multiple whitish ganular lesions in the descending portion of the duodenum were found, the microsurface structure of the granular lesions became clear on magnified chromoendoscopy with crystal violet. Abnormal looped microvessels at the surface of the lesion and white avascular areas under the microvessels were seen on nbi-magnified endoscopy. Biopsy specimens revealed nodular lymphocyte expansion in the lamina propria immunohistochemical analysis demonstrated that the lymphoid neoplastic cells were positive for CD20, 10, and bcl-2, but negative for CD3 and 5. Abdominal CT found an enlarged para-aortic ln and the patient was diagnosed with stage 2e follicular lymphoma. Wait-and-see was adopted

Remission Characteristics

7 months later, the white lesions disappeared at follow-up duodenoscopy, repeat nbi-magnified endoscopy showed no abnormality. Histological specimens showed no neoplastic changes
