Personal Characteristics

40 -year-old female pregnant

Clinical Characteristics

First seen in may 2008 because of incidental leukocytosis in the course of her second pregnancy when she was 8 week pregnant wbc was 92.9x10^9/l, hgb 12.6g/dl, platelets 465x10^9/l and ldh 657u/dl. Abdomen sonogram showed splenomegaly of 16cm peripheral blood cytogenetics and fish showed presence of 9;22 translocation cml diagnosis was made aspirin was given because of thrombocytosis in february 2009, after delivery of her child, the patient showed an increase in wbc, platelets and ldh daily imatinib was started

Remission Characteristics

Watch and wait was decided after diagnosis, and there was a subsequent progress spontaneous lowering of the wbc and then platelets after imatinib was started, rapid hematologic normalization and complete cytogenetic response at 3 months (june 2009) occur

Supposing particularly high levels of interferon were produced during pregnancy
