Abstract

The case was a 73-year-old male who presented with bilateral hydronephrosis due to retroperitoneal fibrosis. Later he became anuric and nephrostomy was constructed. However, with no medical treatment, the hydronephrosis disappeared. Such a spontaneous regression is rare and the etiology is discussed.

73-year-old male with a history of several years of hypertension and angina

Clinical Characteristics

Bilateral hydronephrosis of unknown cause. Para-aortic mass with aortic calciŽcation. 2 weeks after the initial examinations, the patient became anuric.

Remission Characteristics

With no medical treatment, 1 week later patient was voided from the urethra, and 1 month later, the nephrostomy was removed
