Abstract

This case report records 2 discrete episodes of spontaneous remission of metastatic endometrial cancer (into peritoneum and omentum) in a 41-yr-old female following the "Lim Lifestyle" therapy alone. This lifestyle is an originally formulated holistic approach toward cancer consisting of nutritional, spiritual, and mental therapies. Cancer regression was measured symptomatologically, serologically, and radiologically (resolved ascites and reduced omental cake).

Clinical Characteristics

Presented in 2007 with ongoing pervaginal bleeding total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salphingo oophorectomy was performed, right and left external iliac, obturator, and common iliac nodes were removed surgical biopsy was diagnosed twice, separately as grade 2 endometrial adenocarcinoma figo staging in on 6th june, 2007 concluded patient1cn0m0 stage 1c cancer and she was given vaginal vault brachytherapy a follow up in september 2009, metastases were diagnosed. Symptoms included a 5- months history of altered bowel habits and bloody stools and abdominal bloating, an abdomen CT found moderate ascites and peritoneal seeding and infiltration of the omentum by multiple soft tissues masses she denied chemo and started lim lifestyle therapy on oct 9, 2009 when her last recorded ca-125 was 442iu/ml after initial remission, in september 2010 she allowed more oil, salt, royal jelly and honey pollen into her diet, in nov 2010 she re-presented with bloating and constipation in mid-dec 2010, her ca-125 was 148 she recommenced lim lifestyle on dec 16, 2010

Remission Characteristics

Within weeks of starting lim lifestyle, she started to improve, reporting increased appetite, decreased bloating, normalized bowels and sleep patterns he ca-125 levels progressively dropped to 284.1 (oct 13, 2009) and 156 (nov 23, 2009) an abdomen CT in jan 2010 showed reduced ascites by the end of june 2010, her ca-125 had dropped to 14 and a september 2010 CT scan showed resolved ascites and reducing omental infiltration and peritoneal seedlings after recommencing diet on dec 16, symptoms disappeared, ca-125 peaked at 283.1 (jan 17, 2011) before dropping to 193.1 (jan 28, 2011) and 176.8(feb 9, 2011) she was last seen march 1, 2011, he abdomen was soft and nontender, ascites completely resolved and ca-125 was 93.5, she was in good spirits and appeared without morbidity, disease was considered in remission the lifestyle regimen had no negative effects on her, she lost 9.1kg from the start of therapy
