A case of bilateral theca lutein cysts in a twin pregnancy is presented. Under ultrasound surveillance the cysts were seen to undergo spontaneous regression which was not matched by a falling human chorionic gonadotrophin titre.

No relation was found between intensity of neurotic behavior and of neurotic psychical symptoms and spontaneous cure. In the retrospective study the Schedule of Recent Experience (SRE) was used. A certain degree of disturbance of the psychic balance, as measured by the SRE, appears a condition of spontaneous cure.
