Personal Characteristics

A 78-year-old woman

Clinical Characteristics

Non-productive cough, abnormal findings on chest roentgenogram, 4 centimeter rounded mass just below the right hilum, prominent mediastinal mass, noncalcified mass in the retrocardiac space, nonpulsatile mass, sudden paroxysm of coughing, large amount of mucoid sputum

Remission Characteristics

Sudden disappearance of the mass after expulsion of its contents into the tracheobronchial tree, lesion had disappeared, patient remains clinically well with no further roentgenographic changes two years following this episode
