Case Details

Personal Characteristics

2-year-old white boy, frequent sore throats and upper respiratory infections, milk intolerance

Clinical Characteristics

Initial IGA level was 4 mg/dl, IGG and IGM were normal. Immunoglobulins of the mother, father, and an 18-month old sister were normal. Anti-IGA antibodies were absent.

Remission Characteristics

Repeat immunoglobulins 2 years later were IGG, 885 mg/ dl; IGM, 93 mg/dl; and IGA, 0. Two additional years later, the IGG was 1,203 mg/dl, IGM 140mg/dl, and IGA 135 mg/ dl (repeated once).
