Abstract

The second case of spontaneous remission of a biopsy-proven osseous metastasis from a renal carcinoma is reported. The unusual feature of the patient presenting with a right varicocele and no hematuria is extremely rare.

Personal Characteristics

A 49-year-old man

Clinical Characteristics

Lumbar pains on the right side, macroscopic hematuria, palpable masses in the area of the right lumbar cavity, tumor of the right kidney, pleuropulmonary staphylococci infection, nodules resembling metastases in lung

Remission Characteristics

Nodules disappeared 3 weeks later

Clinical Treatment

Radical nephrectomy with a partial cavectomy, antibiotics, bronchoscopy and fibroscopy

Additional Notes

The patient survived for another 5 years; the bronchoscopic and radioscopic tests were normal, and his general health was excellent.
