Personal Characteristics

Sister gertrude of the sisters of charity in new orleans

Clinical Characteristics

Jaundiced, severe pain, nausea, chills, high fever, the head of the pancreas was found to be enlarged to three times its normal size

Remission Characteristics

Began to improve in health and made rapid progress, lived 7 1/2 years after diagnosis, no evidence of pancreatic cancer was found at autopsy

Intercession with mother seton, deceased founder of the order, in a series of novenas

Exploratory laparotomy performed, biopsy of the tumor was done
